How to Build a Christmas Craft Table: A Primer

Crafts can be an exciting, but tricky, part of the Christmas season.

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to make a wooden table with a simple, modern twist.

1.

Start with a base material and a plan.

You can use pine or maple for a base.

The idea is to keep the wood at least 10 feet away from your kitchen counters and doors.

To start, cut the pine into a 6-by-6-foot rectangle.

This rectangle will allow you to cut out the top and bottom pieces.

Next, make two halves of the base.

Use the template from step two to make the bottom and the top.

To finish the base, cut two sides of the rectangle and glue them together with two nails.

Once you’re done, you should have a nice, square base.

2.

The Table: Start with the base pieces and build up from there.

For this project, we used the same material we used to make our wooden table, so we only needed to build up the top part of each piece.

The base pieces are made of 1 1/2- by 1-inch pieces of pine.

You’ll need: 1 pine log (about 15 feet)
